Tombstone OverNighter - October 19-20, 2018
Members of the Tucson Model A Club met on Friday, Oct. 19 to begin our journey to our first stop, the Wilhelm Family Vineyards in Elgin with 7 Model A's,
1 Model T, and 2 vintage vehicles. One Model A and 2 modern vehicles joined us at the vineyard. At the vineyards we were greeted by owner Karyl Wilhelm
and her staff. Karyl gave us an overview of her family vineyard while we dined on delicious sandwiches, sides and refreshments. We continued the
afternoon with wine tasting and a tour of the process involved in making wine. From the vineyard we proceeded to the Gateway Suites in Sierra Vista.
The hotel provided snacks and assorted beverages for happy hour. Members selected various dining venues for their evening meal. Saturday morning
brought us to breakfast at the hotel and then on to our final destination of Tombstone. Upon arriving in front of the Tombstone Courthouse we now had a
total of 11 Model A's, 1 Model T, 2 vintage vehicles and 1 modern car. All members enjoyed the days events, shopping, people watching those dressed in
period clothing, and of course dining at various places. Some members remained for a second evening while the rest of us journeyed back home.
A special thanks to Chuck and Lynn Thim for their masterful navigation skills and for providing maps which also included dining selections in Sierra Vista.
We enjoyed beautiful weather, wonderful company and we hope everyone had good time.
Respectfully submitted by,
Ray and Sandy Feierstein.
