Progressive Dinner April 2023

On April 23rd the Club held its annual Progressive Dinner on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. For those of us on the east side, it was a nice day for a long drive across town on the Sunrise/Skyline/Ina Road corridor to Thornydale Rd then to the northwest side of town. Someone asked me where the first stop was and I told them it was close to Marana on Camino Del Norte. I did not realize how right I was until I saw a sign indicating Marana was right across the street.

Our next stop was near 10700 East Old Spanish Trail, an approximately 34 mile drive from our first stop. We chose Thornydale Road to River Road route back across town. Even though a little warmer, it was still a nice day for a leisurely drive in our favorite car. I would like to sincerely thank our hosts for opening their homes to our club members and guests. Jim and Janis Blankenship hosted the appetizers/salad stop. Ernie and Ann Williams hosted both the main course and desert stops. In addition, the Findysz’s provided some extra tables to the Williams. According to the signup sheet, we had 46 attendees total at one or both stops. My condolences to Harvey & Betty Ross, who had volunteered for the desert stop, for their loss and need to travel back east for a funeral.

I would like to also thank everyone who came out to support the effort to make it a great outing. We had our cars out for a drive, explored two interesting garages, and enjoyed great food with even better company. I expect us to do it again next year.
