Mt. Lemmon Lunch - August 23, 2015
Mt Lemmon
August 23, 2015
Thank you to each and everyone who attended and provided side dishes for the annual Mt. Lemmon outing held at the Mt. Lemmon
fire station. As always, it is a treat to get out of the heat in Tucson and travel into the pines and cooler weather. The drive was especially
beautiful with a blanket of green covering the mountain, perfect weather and no afternoon rain on the way home. I hope those who stayed
after lunch to tour the area had a great time shopping and site seeing.
Our club provided (3) different kinds of BBQ, cold drinks and members brought an array of side dishes and desserts to share assuring all
plenty of wonderful food to eat. Four Modela A’s made the climb but the Liebert’s “A” and Rey Brown’s Mustang had other ideas. Both had to
turn around due to mechanical issues but returned with modern vehicles in time for lunch.
Our thanks go out to several people. Chief Ogden and the firefighters who opened and prepared the fire station for our arrival and cleanup
after lunch along with those who stayed and quickly picked up tables and chairs, to Shorty and Isabel for bringing up drinks and help with
setup and special thanks to all the hard work of Linda and Carey Kent and Lynn Thim for putting on this outing.
