International Model A Day - September 22, 2012
On Saturday, September 22, members celebrated International Model A Day. Chairperson Ron Edwards organized
the event. Participants met at the library at Ajo and Mission, then motored through Gates Pass and McCain Loop,
enjoying the dramatic desert scenery. Destination was the Sky Rider Café at the Marana Regional Airport
for breakfast. There were 11 Model A’s, one Model T, 23 members and one guest. The group also had an opportunity
to view vintage aircraft as Gary Albertson of the Marana Regional Airport gave an overview of several models.
Included were a 1941 Stearman plane, an Air Force Navy Trainer and a 1944 B-26 Marauder
